This article is for every student who feels: "I'm too late", "My family's financial situation isn't great", "I don't have enough resources", or "I keep trying but the results aren't coming". If you're going through this phase, I hope my story gives you both motivation and a clear direction.
My Life Before SSC GD: Teaching Job + Dream of a Government Career
When I started preparing for SSC exams, I was working as a teacher in a private school. Alongside my job, I was also actively writing news content, which helped me improve my writing skills, research ability, and consistency. Managing teaching, content writing, and exam preparation together wasn't easy, but I stayed focused because I had one clear goal — to crack a government exam and build a secure future.
The salary was limited, responsibilities were high, and like many middle-class families, my family's financial situation wasn't very strong. But I had one clear dream: to get a government job and build a secure future for myself and my family. I knew the path wouldn't be easy, but I also knew that if I stayed consistent, one day things would change.
How My SSC Preparation Started
Alongside my job, I started preparing for SSC exams seriously. My main focus was on SSC CHSL, SSC MTS, and SSC GD. At first, managing both teaching and preparation was difficult. I used to feel exhausted, but I reminded myself daily:
"Hard work is heavy, but regret is heavier."
Joining Coaching and Building a Proper Routine
To improve my preparation, I joined coaching classes. Coaching helped me understand the correct syllabus, exam pattern and strategy, time management, and how to solve questions faster. But one important thing I realised is: coaching can guide you, but selection depends on your self-study.
So I built my routine around two main rules: daily practice and regular revision.
My 3-Year Preparation Phase: Struggle, Failures, and Learning
My SSC journey wasn't a one-month or three-month story. It took me nearly 3 years of continuous preparation.
During this time, I also appeared in SSC CHSL and SSC CGL. Even though I didn't get selected immediately, those attempts gave me real exam experience, confidence, understanding of my mistakes, and a better preparation strategy.
The biggest lesson I learned was: "Never stop after failure. Learn, improve, and continue."
The Turning Point: Cracking SSC GD 2018
After consistent effort, revision, and practice, I finally cracked SSC GD 2018. That moment was special — not because it was easy, but because it was the result of late-night study sessions, continuous struggle, balancing my job with preparation, and faith in myself even when results weren't coming.
Physical Test (PET/PST)
Many aspirants think clearing the written exam is everything. But in SSC GD, the real journey continues after that. After the written exam, I was called for the Physical Test, which included the running test, chest measurement, height measurement, and other physical standards.
I trained myself and stayed focused. With dedication and preparation, I successfully cleared all physical stages.
"Written clears the cutoff, but fitness clears the final selection."
Medical Examination: CRPF Camp, Allahabad
After clearing PET/PST, I was called for the medical examination. I still remember that phase clearly. I went to the CRPF Allahabad camp for my medical test. The medical process was strict and included multiple checks. Thankfully, I passed all the medical tests successfully.
That was the stage where I truly felt: "Now I am very close to my dream."
Joining BSF: A Proud Moment of My Life
After clearing all stages — written exam, physical test, and medical — I finally joined as a BSF soldier. Joining BSF was one of the proudest moments of my life because it wasn't just a job. It was a symbol of my hard work, my discipline, my struggle, and my family's prayers.
I served in BSF for one year. The experience taught me many important life lessons: discipline and punctuality, mental strength, teamwork, and respect and responsibility.
Why I Resigned After 1 Year
After serving for one year, I resigned from BSF due to personal reasons. Sometimes life takes unexpected turns, and we have to make decisions based on our responsibilities and situations. Even though I left the service, I will always respect the uniform and the experience it gave me.
My New Journey: Blogging and Content Writing
After that phase, I decided to focus on my passion and skills. That's when I started working seriously in blogging, content writing, government job updates, exam preparation content, and government schemes.
Today, I am the founder and owner of SarkariJob.com, where I publish reliable and updated information for aspirants across India. My mission is simple: to help students get accurate information and guide them with real experience.
What SSC GD Taught Me
SSC GD preparation and selection taught me lessons that still help me today:
Consistency is everything
Even 2 hours daily is enough if you do it for months.
Failure is part of success
I appeared in SSC CHSL and CGL too, and those exams improved me.
Fitness matters
In SSC GD, physical preparation is as important as written preparation.
Background doesn't decide your future
Family conditions may be weak, but your mindset must be strong.
Final Message to Aspirants
If you're preparing for SSC GD, SSC CHSL, Railway, Police, or any government exam, remember this: You may feel tired. You may feel pressured. You may feel like quitting. But if you stay consistent, your day will come.
"Your struggle is preparing you for your success."
Thank you for reading my journey. If my story motivated you, keep working hard and never stop believing in yourself.
